Services

I am able to offer a full range of stone carving products and services. I can carry out the whole process of a commission from the initial idea, through the planning and design stages to the production of a completed piece. I am happy to undertake all paperwork, applications for permissions and liaison with public bodies and local authorities where necessary. I can also arrange for the installation of completed work.

It is important to me to work in partnership with the client to achieve outcomes that match the client’s expectations. I will usually suggest an initial meeting with new customers which gives me an opportunity to understand fully what the client is looking for. I can show you samples of the stones I work with, examples of how different fonts and colours look when carved in stone and we both have the opportunity to get to know each other a little. I can also explain more fully the process of commissioning a piece of work carved in stone.

All of my work is carried out using traditional tools and hand carving methods which have remained unchanged since the times of the cathedral builders in the Middle Ages. Everything I make is therefore unique and tailored to the customer's requirements.
I am always available to meet with potential customers at my Abergavenny workshop. I am also happy to travel to meet you if coming to Abergavenny is problematic. In addition, much of the planning process can be carried out by phone and e-mail, if necessary.
