Oystermouth Castle Carvings

Oystermouth stone carving and lettering

Oystermouth Castle

City & County of Swansea

This commission was part of a comprehensive conservation programme carried out over several years at Oystermouth Castle. I produced a large relief carving of the castle’s new logo in Portland stone as the centrepiece of a new entrance to Oystermouth Castle.

The logo is flanked by a hand-carved inscription in Welsh on one side and English on the other, which reads, A castle in Gower he burnt outright, and killed many within it.
